The individual
Conferences of the Sacramento Council of the St. Vincent de Paul Society
provide services to those in need including the homeless and hungry. The
Society offers tangible assistance to those in need on a person-to-person
basis. It is this personalized involvement that makes the work of the
Society unique. This aid may take the form of intervention, consultation,
or often through direct dollar or in-kind service. An essential precept of
the Society’s work is to provide help while conscientiously
maintaining the confidentiality and dignity of those who are served. During
the past year, members in the Sacramento Council of the St. Vincent de Paul
Society provided services to over 44,000 people. Sacramento Council
Vincentians offered, as their service to God, over 46,000 hours. Conference
members serve those in need within their parish so as to know how best to
provide whatever is required whether help with rent, food, clothing, or
spiritual assistance.
